Hello Amin, what is your role at Genexis?
Hi, I’m a senior software engineer at Genexis, part of the Wi-Fi team, where I work on core Wi-Fi and Multi-AP stack components. I focus on building and maintaining Wi-Fi software modules and TR-181 Wi-Fi data model, which directly impact the performance and manageability of our EasyMesh products.
How long have you been working at Genexis?
I officially joined Genexis as an employee when I moved from Tunisia to Sweden in November 2022. However, my journey with Genexis started earlier, in 2018, when I began working with the company as a consultant from Tunisia, which gave me the opportunity to grow alongside the company over the years.
What excites me most about Genexis is its open work culture and friendly atmosphere, where colleagues support each other and learning is encouraged.
How is it to live/work in Sweden?
I really enjoy living and working in Sweden. The work environment is collaborative and supports a good work-life balance, and I prefer working from the office to stay connected with colleagues. Living close to both the office and the city center makes everyday life easy and comfortable.
How would you summarize what you do?
My work is mainly focused on implementing and maintaining the Wi-Fi core and Multi-AP stack to ensure seamless communication between controller and agents (repeaters/extenders), while using the TR-181 Wi-Fi data model to represent Wi-Fi information and deliver reliable, manageable, and high-performing EasyMesh products for end users.
How would you describe your team?
I’m very happy with my current team. Most of my colleagues are based in Stockholm, and they are highly collaborative and friendly. We work closely together on technical challenges, share knowledge freely, and support each other, making the team environment very motivating and enjoyable.
How is it to work in a diverse company like Genexis?
Working at a diverse company like Genexis is very rewarding. Collaborating with colleagues from different backgrounds helps me support my professional growth and contributes to better teamwork and product quality.
Have you had the opportunity to grow professionally since you joined?
Absolutely. I started my journey at Genexis in the TR-x69 team, where I learned a lot, developed my skills, and grew professionally over the years. Moving to the Wi-Fi team has been an exciting new challenge, allowing me to explore a different area, take on new responsibilities, and continue developing my career while contributing to innovative EasyMesh products.
What is exciting about Genexis as a company?
What excites me most about Genexis is its open work culture and friendly atmosphere, where colleagues support each other and learning is encouraged. Being a small company, everyone can grow their skills and career, while enjoying flexibility to work from the office or remotely, a healthy work-life balance, and events like parties and fika that make the workplace fun.
Would you recommend others to come work at Genexis?
Absolutely. I’ve grown a lot professionally at Genexis and enjoy its friendly, supportive culture, as well as the chance to work on challenging and innovative projects.
Do you have any tips for them?
My tip would be to be open and proactive. Genexis is a very friendly company, so it’s easy to integrate, collaborate with your team, and learn from others even as a non-Swedish employee.
What are you extra proud of?
I’m proud of being sociable and enjoying working with people from different countries, learning from their cultures and perspectives. I’m also proud of my work ethic and the fact that my manager and team leader recognize and appreciate my contributions to the team.
