Hi Aleksandra, tell us about yourself.

My name is Aleksandra Garcia. I work as a Senior Accountant at our office located at Hammarby Kaj in Stockholm, Sweden.

I’m originally from Poland and moved to Sweden in 2000 as an au pair—little did I know I’d find love and build a life here! Outside of work, I’m always on the go: I have two wonderful children, love spending time with friends, and I’m passionate about gardening. My garden is my happy place, and I can’t resist flowers. I also enjoy cycling and running around beautiful Stockholm.

So, what is your role at Genexis?

I look after the accounting for all our Swedish companies, and also for Norway, Denmark, and Finland. If I had to sum up what I do, I’d say I’m the person who keeps our finance processes running smoothly. I’m here to support my colleagues across the group, helping them develop and use our tools in a way that makes sense for everyone. I also make sure we’re consistent in how we do things, no matter which company in the group you’re talking about. It’s a role that keeps me connected to a lot of people, and I really enjoy being that go-to person when someone needs help or advice. I also handle payroll for Sweden and take care of a lot of the day-to-day admin that keeps us running smoothly. I’m the go-to person for everything from banking to landlord issues, and I’m proud to be our safety representative too.

What do you like most about your job?

What I love most is the variety—no two days are ever quite the same. I get to work with people from all over the group, and I really enjoy being able to help out, whether it’s with a tricky finance question or just organizing something fun for the team. It’s rewarding to know that what I do makes a difference for my colleagues.

What does a typical workweek look like for you?

I usually work from home one or two days a week, which gives me some quiet time to focus. But when it’s month-end or year-end closing, things get really intense—there’s a lot to do, and the pace picks up. I also have regular meetings with stakeholders, which keeps me in the loop and lets me contribute to bigger decisions.
