Fiber broadband is a crucial enabler for climate transition, paving the way for an emission-free society. At Genexis, we develop broadband equipment that connects people, fostering sustainable living in their homes. Through strong partnerships and innovation in energy efficiency, we make communication solutions accessible and affordable for all. At the same time, we consciously select resources and move toward a circular-focused product portfolio – strengthening the circular economy.
Genexis is committed to being Net Zero by 2050
Reducing greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions means getting validated science-based targets by SBTi, aligned with the Paris Agreement’s goal of limiting global warming to 1.5°C. To reach net zero and 100% circularity by 2050, we focus on energy efficiency and responsible material consumption across our value chain. Genexis is on track, having achieved a 29% reduction in GHG emissions since our 2022 baseline.
We support this progress with our product environmental reports, delivered proactively with each purchase.

Climate change
Climate change is a key concern for Genexis, as our products contribute to greenhouse gas emissions throughout their lifecycle, mainly through energy consumption during its use phase and raw material supply in production.
The telecom industry is energy-intensive, and as global demand for broadband increases, so does the carbon footprint of powering these networks. Mitigating climate change is crucial to reduce environmental impact, meet evolving regulatory requirements, and customer expectations for low-carbon technologies.
Key target: transition to 100% renewable energy in all offices by 2028.

Circular economy
The circular economy is critical to Genexis, as fiber broadband equipment contributes to rising electronic waste. Globally, 20-50 million tons of e-waste are generated each year, making it the fastest-growing component of municipal solid waste.
Given the life cycles of electronic products, there is an urgent need for responsible end-of-life management. By embracing circular economy principles such as reusing, refurbishing, recycling, and designing for longer product life, we can reduce our environmental impact, manage resource scarcity, and meet regulatory and customer expectations for sustainable practices.
Key target: Increase the share of recycled plastic beyond 75% in our products by 2026.
