We are seeking a dynamic and technically proficient Field Application Engineer in North America to lead pre-sales technical engagements with our customers.

The ideal candidate will deliver impactful presentations, design aligned network solutions, and effectively translate complex technical concepts into simple, business-friendly language while emphasizing our value proposition. This role involves influencing both technical staff and business decision-makers within prospective broadband service provider customers. Responsibilities include conducting demonstrations, supporting lab and field trials, and offering expert guidance on technical and operational challenges. A strong technical background and confidence in technical and business discussions are key to success in this role.

Your responsibilities:

  • Drive the positioning and sale of products and solutions to customers.
  • Collaborate on the preparation of RFx responses.
  • Deliver technical sales presentations to technical teams and senior management.
  • Understand and integrate business requirements into technical account strategies.
  • Support customers and resellers in configuring, testing, and validating products in lab and field environments.
  • Provide leadership by guiding customers on technical and operational challenges within your areas of expertise.
  • Collaborate with customers to design and architect network solutions tailored to their specific application needs.
  • Maintain deep expertise in the product portfolio to offer optimized solutions.
  • Influence customer decisions and communicate technical concepts in simplified terms.
  • Serve as a thought leader fluent in company technologies and industry trends.
  • Act as a mentor and counselor to team members.
  • Research and stay informed on emerging industry standards and technological advancements.
  • Collect and prioritize customer requirements to inform Product Management decisions.
  • Collaborate closely with internal product and engineering teams to drive project success.

Your qualifications:

  • Proven expertise with Layer 2 and Layer 3 Access network architectures.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of FTTx fiber-based Access solutions.
  • Strong understanding of PON and Ethernet-based architectures.
  • Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot complex Layer 2/3 deployment issues and methodologies.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills and a track record of synthesizing complex issues into actionable solutions.
  • Proven ability to engage effectively with diverse audiences across technical and organizational levels.
  • Excellent presentation and written communication skills.
  • Willingness to travel up to 50%, also outside the US.

The ideal candidate must be self-motivated and interested in becoming proficient with connecting networking solutions to diverse deployment scenarios. To be successful in this role you’ll need a combination of technical know-how, a passion for helping customers succeed, and managing cases throughout the entire support lifecycle. You have a customer-oriented / commercial attitude and love to teach and explain things in a simple way. You are a fast learner, analytically strong, and not afraid of unknown territories. You are eager to continuously develop and improve yourself.
