Your role within Genexis

As the Quality & Assurance Manager, you are responsible for the Quality Assurance processes within Genexis. You coach the teams involved in product creation and (software) development in order to bring it to the next level and to achieve the team goals. You enable technical knowledge build-up and knowledge sharing inside and outside the team.

You take ownership of Quality Assurance during product and software development, including software release processes. You help to establish an End to End approach, where individual products and software components are part of total solutions, that we deliver with quality to the market. After the initial creation, you are together with the Product Lifecycle Team co-responsible for the quality of products and services during the next product life cycles. You are responsible for achieving agreed product quality and compliance with the relevant norms and standards in our industry. You ensure that risks with product quality are identified as early as possible and intervene in the process when and where required.

You will help to create a new to established QA Team, that you will lead, and you will ensure that QA activities are implemented within the way of working of all the relevant products and development teams.
You report directly to the COO of the company, who is member of the Management Team of Genexis. You will work closely together with our CTO and our Manager for Software Development and the Manager of our Tech Team.

Your responsibilities

  • You will fill in a (for Genexis) new role as QA Manager. You will advise and guide Genexis in how to implement QA in a good way within our development and support organization.
  • You help Genexis to prepare and implement industry standards (like ISO) that are seen as ‘goals’ to reach to a higher quality level in our way of working and the positioning of the products and services we create and provide in the market.
  • Genexis plans to create a new QA Team, consisting of the QA Manager and QA Test engineers. This can be started using already available trained and experienced members of the Tech Team, that are involved in customer and products support. The Tech Team is currently involved in testing of new products before they are released to the market, before reaching the Mass Production phase.
  • You will create a key position in the organization and lead the proper processes to enable realizing the QA goals that we set, where we expect to have a step-by-step approach based on a long-term plan.
  • You develop, implement, and manage processes to ensure that products meet required specifications for quality, function, and reliability prior to delivery to our customers.
  • You identify and set appropriate quality standards and parameters for development and the products and services that we develop.
  • You communicate quality standards and parameters to the QA team, to development teams and to other teams like the Tech Team.
  • You will coordinate product testing processes for new products that are being developed, involving both various software development teams and other teams like our hardware team.
  • You will participate in the product creation process, to actively guide the organization in creating products and services that meet our quality standards
  • You identify and analyze issues, bugs, defects, and other problems, particularly when problems recur in multiple products; you will recommend and facilitate solutions to these issues
  • You review clients, customers, and user feedback.
  • You review the results of our cooperation with our suppliers and advise us on improvements in that cooperation that are needed to solve quality issues
  • You will maintain compliance with federal, state, local, and organizational laws, regulations, guidelines, and policies

Your Experience & Skills

To be successful in this role, you need to have affinity with product development including software development and service delivery in the telecom industry. Working experience with layer-2/layer-3 networking equipment, network protocols (e.g. SIP, IGMP), TR-069 and various access technologies like fiber, Ethernet, 802.11n/ac is a plus. You have strong interpersonal communication skills and are able to convince and motivate others to do the right things in the right way. You have a master’s degree in electrical engineering, Information Technology, Service Management or a similar field of education and 5-10 years working experience in a similar role.
